Etobicoke, Toronto, OntarioEtobicoke is a large district located along the western side of Toronto that was first settled in 1790 and later incorporated as a township in 1850. It was not until 1983 that Etobicoke was incorporated as a city. However, just 15 years later, in 1998, Etobicoke was amalgamated into the City of Toronto. It now serves as one of the larger suburban areas – both by population and size – in Ontario.

As of 2016, Etobicoke had an estimated population of approximately 365,143. Given its expansive area, Etobicoke is subdivided into three sections: The Lakeshore, Central Etobicoke, and North Etobicoke. Like many other areas of Toronto, Etobicoke offers residents and visitors ample outdoor spaces and recreational parks. Etobicoke is very well served by several Ontario expressways and highways, as well as four stations on the GO Train.
