My law practice is exclusively family law covering the Greater Toronto Area, neighbouring cities, across Canada the U.S. Over my twenty years of practice the common refrain of my clients is ‘I don’t want to go to court’. More and more are learning about and choosing the Collaborative Process (learn more), Mediation (learn more) and interest based Negotiation (learn more) .
I take care that each client understands his or her legal rights and obligations in their particular circumstances. It is often the direct involvement, the developing of creative solutions, and hands-on decision-making in the Collaborative Process which interests them most often.
I add to my skills in collaborative practice through my regular training and experience in cross- cultural relations. My clients find my strong reputation, high ethics and great value important attributes.
I attended Queen's University for my law degree; Carleton University and University of Toronto for my Masters degree; and the University of Western Ontario and Universidad Iberoamericana for my Honours BA.
I am a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Board of Directors of Toronto Collaborative Practice, the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners where I also participate in committees, and local community groups. I founded and facilitate the South Toronto Collaborative Small Practice Group since 2007 and offer newly trained practitioners one-on-one mentoring.
I am a member of the ROM Royal Patrons’ Circle Committee and the Toronto Power Walkers. I am continuing with my almost two decade long resolution to learn a new sport every winter and summer. As well, I enjoy the challenge of writing children's books in French. I often spend a quiet moment doing photography, experimenting with landscaping my gardens, exploring innovative design, and creating sculpture with found objects. This year, I am pursuing a new hobby in carpentry and woodworking.
